With a distinguished career at Leicestershire Police, Nadia Etteridge is a proud advocate for the county and a passionate supporter of its thriving food scene.
A dedicated curry enthusiast, Nadia made her judging debut this year—an experience she describes as “a genuine privilege” and “a wonderful journey from start to finish.”

“Choosing between the finalists was no easy task. The standard was consistently high, with every establishment bringing something special to the table,” she says.
“Judging the awards reminded me how fortunate we are to have such a thriving curry culture right on our doorstep.
Leicestershire truly leads the way when it comes to curry, and these awards perfectly showcase everything we have to be proud of.”
Throughout the judging process, Nadia was struck by the exceptional quality of food on offer. Each dish was beautifully prepared, rich in flavour, and showcased a remarkable range of styles and influences from across the South Asian culinary spectrum.
“It’s this combination of outstanding food and hospitality that sets Leicester’s curry houses apart on a national stage,” Nadia noted.
Reflecting on her experience, she shared: “What I’ll take away most from this experience is the sense of joy and community these awards foster—not only for the finalists but for the wider city and county too.
Being part of the Leicestershire Curry Awards has been a wonderful journey from start to finish, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had this opportunity.”
