As a girl who grew up in Leicester, I’m absolutely buzzing to be a judge for the Leicestershire Curry Awards.
This city is in my bones — its energy, its diversity, and of course, its unbeatable food scene. Leicester isn’t just where I’m from; it’s who I am. And if there’s one thing that unites us here, it’s our shared love of a good curry.

From family takeaways on a Friday night to celebratory meals on the Golden Mile, curry has always been more than just food — it’s a taste of home, of community, of joy. Being asked to judge the very best of what Leicester has to offer feels like the ultimate honour.
It’s a chance to celebrate the chefs, the kitchens, and the stories behind every dish — the spice blends passed down through generations, the bold experiments, the comforting classics.
I’m proud to be from a city where food is a cultural bridge, where every bite tells a story, and where the curry scene is as rich and vibrant as the people who make it. The Leicestershire Curry Awards shine a spotlight on that brilliance, and I’m thrilled to play a part in it.
So yes — I’m buzzing. Because this isn’t just about food. It’s about celebrating Leicester, in all its flavour-packed glory.
