It’s time to nominate your favourite Indian restaurants and takeaways, as preparations get underway for this year’s glittering awards!
Nominations for the 7th annual event opened earlier today (Wednesday, May 1), and people are now being urged to put forward the names of their favourite Indian eateries.
The awards, which take place this year on September 23, are a celebration of the county’s spicy culinary scene.
Nominations have opened in eight different categories including ‘Best Takeaway’, ‘Best Catering,’ ‘Best Street Food’ and ‘Best Pub Restaurant’.
People can also their favourite ‘Best Fine Dining Restaurant,’ ‘Best Vegetarian Restaurant’ and ‘Best New Restaurant’ (one which has been trading for less than three years.)
The final award is the coveted ‘Restaurant of the Year,’ which was won last year by Kayal. Silchar Indian Dining were crowned as the county’s most delectable choice.
“In Leicestershire, we are spoilt with a banquet of choice when it comes to great Indian restaurants and takeaways,” said Romail Gulzar, founder of the awards, which were established in 2017.
“As ever, I’m looking forward to seeing which ones make it through to this year’s glittering grand final!”
