The Leicester Curry Awards 2020/21 took place on 27 September 2021 and as predicted was a night of fun, feasting and festivities.
The evening saw Leicester and Leicestershire’s finest curry houses come together to celebrate the winners of seven different categories:
- Best Takeaway
- Best Indian Street Food
- Best Pub Restaurant
- Best Vegetarian Restaurant
- Best New Restaurant
- Best Fine Dining Restaurant
- Restaurant of the Year
The night was kickstarted by a glamorous red carpet and drinks reception which saw lots of laughter, catch-ups and new greetings. This was followed by a three course meal (of course, the curry was exquisite) while guests were entertained by some of Leicestershire’s most talented acts.
Following this, it was time for the main event: The awards ceremony. The winners were announced and summoned to the stage but in an especially touching moment, this year, five special awards were also given to both individuals and establishments who were recognised for helping the local community during the pandemic.
Our two charity partners for the event, Age UK Leicester shire and Rutland and the Royal Air Forces Association were also brought to the stage for a cheque presentation ceremony. It was a great night and extra special to be together again, particularly as for many, this was the first event attended in 18 months. Massive congratulations to all winners but also, a massive well done to all finalists who were selected by their happy customers.
